Night Hair Routine

January 12, 2021

Hey ladies! Building a hair care routine takes time and I’m still very much finding new ways to maintain my frizz  — a true struggle that I know many can relate with. For the majority of us, going to the salon for a hair treatment might not be an option for us. The stares, the…

HerHearttoHisHeart Series: MY MARY MAGDALENE MOMENT!

May 28, 2020

It was a simple text message from an unknown number. “Good morning, Abbey! I’m from Kallos Magazine! I got your contact from Zhi Yi. It was our busiest day of the year, Chinese New Year’s Eve, where everyone and their mother wanted to get…

#HerHearttoHisHeart Series: GO BEYOND YOURSELF

April 20, 2020

The past few weeks have been a time of deeper reflection and soul-searching for me amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve adjusted to working from home and relishing quality time with my little niece during lunch breaks and after work hours. Yet, I felt God stirring my heart in this season, especially in a recent online…

#HerHearttoHisHeart Series: ANCHORED

April 13, 2020

Look at our world today. What do we see? The new co-work space of the dining table, the empty streets, the 5th Zoom call you just made today, what do they mean to you? Is this merely just the new rhythm of our life, the new normal we content with? Or do they tell of…

#HerHearttoHisHeart Series: Matters of the Heart

April 9, 2020

I spent the last few weeks processing what is truly happening to the world. It seems like we’re on the edge of not knowing what only God knows. It’s unnerving to be connected by this common thread of anxiety, panic, paranoia, and fear every single day. Our world and lifestyle have been flipped upside down,…

Around the beginning of this year, I grabbed my DIY queen Tai Yi ( you’re no strangers with) and explored the hidden gem of Hock Siong, a secret store filled with pre-loved, refurbished customizable furniture. It started with a post they shared on their Instagram (@hocksiong), it was a beautiful gold vintage mirror that I…

It's great to treat your hair once in a while but unfortunately, there isn't a shortcut to fixing your hair problems — the key is consistency and finding what your hair needs. I'm still in search for what works for me but here's what I've been trying lately for my fine, frizzy, curly hair. More details can be found on my blog - link in bio.

Attempted to try to film a hair tutorial but clear Attempted to try to film a hair tutorial but clearly, when you have two kids who haven't been to someone's house for months and discovers a secret hidden room, it's bound to get crazy! It makes for a terrible hair tutorial but incredibly entertaining content 🤣 You'll understand after watching this. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I have! Stay tuned for part two!
“Whatsoever thy hand is able to do, do it earnes “Whatsoever thy hand is able to do, do it earnestly...”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This verse has never been more real to me than the last couple of months.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Looking back on my hair journey, I was just an Apostolic teenager who was struggling with my convictions. If you don’t know my story, I would love to tell you someday! ⁣There was a need and God used my own testimony to encourage girls in my church.⁣
⁣
But in the process, it wasn’t easy and it still isn’t. I’ve wrestled with God many times and asked if this is really His will. Is this really helping anyone?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But God in all His mysterious ways began opening doors. Little did I know, He had much bigger plans — He was telling me I’m going to show you what I can do with your hands. What started with a small group of TJ girls ( anyone remember Astylistas 😳), to teaching 200 ladies in Philippines, conducting Zoom hair workshops and now featured in a Christian magazine.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Don’t discount all the small things we do for Him! He’s ready to show you, "Look what I can do through the little things you do." Don’t discount the journey He’s taking you on.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Taking the time to fix your hair in the morning, they are not just small things. Even if you are simply standing unwavering in your convictions, they are not just small things. I'm so thankful for all the sheroes that have gone before us — Apostolic women who lived out what it truly means to embrace a life of holiness. So let’s continue to live out our Apostolic legacy for the next generation to come.  When the world attacks us for not being a “certain” way, we need to remind and encourage one other that we are divinely created and set apart for a special purpose. Our identity as daughters of God is just as unique and hand-crafted as the gifts He puts into our hands. As we continue to walk faithfully with Him may we know more of the depths of God's amazing heart.
